Cozey Bed Frame Review (2026): A Hidden Storage Gem

Since I didn’t have to commit to the color forever, I let my nine-year-old son choose the upholstery. He selected the creamy bouclé fabric because it reminded him of his favorite stuffed animal, a big white bear, but the bed also spoke to me as a mom for one practical perk: It includes storage for his collection of stuffed toys that were literally spilling onto the floor from his previous minimalist, midcentury-modern bed. Since I couldn’t convince him to put the toys in a closet, the storage bed was a good compromise.

What’s your bedroom design, and how does this storage bed align with your aesthetic?

Normally, I opt for a pop of color, but the creamy bouclé I ultimately landed on works exceptionally well in my son’s room. (His previous bed was a dark walnut wood that blended into his dark brown jute carpet.) The walls are painted sapphire blue on top, and turquoise on the bottom, separated by white trim. Adding this anchor to the room creates contrast while making it feel brighter and more open.

Having the option to choose the frame shape was a nice touch because it makes me aware of how the room is already designed—and what is lacking. The options ranged from round, square, pillow, and extended silhouettes. I chose the rounded frame to soften up the look—since so much of our furniture is angular, the delicate curves dictate a gentler design narrative.

Delivery & Assembly

What was the delivery and assembly like?

Once the order was placed, it took just over a week for the Cozey bed frame to arrive. As much as I love designing new spaces, I dread putting furniture together. Cozey, however, specializes in easy-to-assemble pieces that ship directly to your door. Because all the pieces could fit in smaller boxes, the shipping was free. I already had some experience with their furniture last summer when I tested the Neptune sleeper sofa, so I knew what to expect more or less.

Like last time, the boxes arrived at my doorstep, and the delivery person helped me bring the boxes in before it started raining. All the pieces came in polyester baggies and the upholstery was packaged separately. Smaller parts like screws and rubber pads, came in little boxes. To kick off assembly, my husband and I placed the two steel frames where the bed is supposed to go and tightened the leg pieces with plastic-covered screws. The two interconnected frame pieces then slid into each other, with handy round rubber stickers on the legs to keep the steel from scratching the floor.
